06/07/2026 - Purpose: Week 2 - Genesis 1-2:1-9, 15

If we are to understand the purpose of our lives now, there are two things we must seek to understand:

- The realities of heaven

- The realities of the Garden of Eden

Eden had everything we needed-and it was good.

After the fall of man, we now have to toil.

Work is not a curse that came through sin.

Work is a gift for which we were made.

Work is productive activity.

The beauty of the creation story is that God finished his work on the sixth day and put us in creation to continue what he started.

When we accept the lie that work is evil, we reject God's fundamental plan and purpose for our lives.

When we are in agreement with the enemy that work is a curse, we ask God to help us build a life of joy, peace, and abundance and reject the foundation on which that life must be built.

God has placed you on this earth to continue what he began when he created the world. What are you doing to leave this world a better place than you found it?

Prayer this week: God, show me what I have that I can use more for the work of building your kingdom
